Harley was to be a children's book character - concept originated by Eugene Trilling, who asked me to illustrate.
The story was to be set somewhere in Switzerland, sometime in the '40s or '50s or something, with very stereotypical costuming and so on. Two kids find a black and white spotted bear in the mountains and bring him home for a pet, trying to hide him in the attic, and much hilarity ensues, etc. The project never happened because I moved away from the area shortly after starting the project and we lost touch. The book was probably never published either. At least I've never found it anywhere.
